Riverhouse Arts Centre Walton

Mark Darvill-Evans July 27, 2017

The first ‘full concert’ with a selection of works from the album alongside Pärt, Liszt, Glass Berio and Messiaen, with a collection for Alzheimer’s Research UK. A wonderful atmosphere in the converted barn, where previously I’ve seen Barry Douglas play.

The concert was both a performance and a little bit of a lecture from Siwan about each of the composers and the music she played. This gave an insight into the composer’s mind and the links that she, as a performer, felt. A beautiful Steinway made the music swirl around the venue, and something came alive in the musical links, creating a seamless flow of moods.

This concert was recorded with a static video camera, and this site (and YouTube) has footage of Forgotten Kisses, Lanterns and Promises all played live at the concert.
